The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (APIIC) will develop infrastructure in the industrial units to be set up in the mandals.
The APIIDC has sent the proposal to the government to this effect. The district collector, Mr Peeyush Kumar, has asked the revenue divisional officers to find suitable sites between 20 to 30 acres in all mandals to set up industrial units. The APIIC will develop infrastructure like roads and provide drinking water and power supply to the units.
The department is hopeful that industrialists would avail the infrastructure facilities. The APIIC also proposed to develop infrastructure in two major industrial zones in Jaggaiahpet rural mandal and Nuzvid of Krishna district. Notification has been issued to acquire 650 acres of land in Jayanthipuram village and nearby areas of
Jaggaiaphet rural mandal. Survey is being done at a brisk pace in Jaggaiahpet rural mandal to acquire land to develop infrastructure.
The APIIC zonal manager, Mr B. Satyanarayana, told that the department sent a proposal to the government to develop infrastructure in all mandals to promote industrial development. He added that if the government land is not available in the mandal centres, proposals would be made to acquire land in each Assembly segment.
The government land is available in only two mandals of Jaggaiahpet and Nuzvid. So, the department of industries is mainly concentrating on these mandals.
The minister for major industries, Mr Kanna Lakshminarayana, is holding meetings with the officials and entrepreneurs to promote industries in Krishna district.
Plastic, pharma and automobile industries are likely to come up in these industrial zones.
